You may think that a warehouse has the same risks as any other workplace, but they have the potential to be very hazardous working environments. This course looks at the main risks and best practice when working in a warehouse.

•  Recognise how to stay safe when working around the warehouse site

This course teaches awareness of workplace violence, how it is defined and the steps managers and employees can take to prevent violent outbreaks among coworkers. You will learn about the 4 recognized types of perpetrators of workplace violence. We'll discuss OSHA recommendations for adhering to your company guidelines about dealing with violence and recommended procedures to increase your safety when confronted with violent people. Both employees and company management have responsibilities related to violent behavior in the workplace. We'll help you understand those responsibilities, while learning how to react when you encounter violence personally or observe a violent encounter at work. Run time: 30 minutes

Forklifts or powered industrial trucks are used to lift, stack and transfer loads in warehouses, factories, shipping yards, freight terminals and other workplaces. While forklifts offer a practical materials handling solution for many businesses, each year they continue to be associated with workplace deaths and injuries. Forklift incidents can be prevented, especially when employers and workers work together to improve safety and health at work. Run time: 30 minutes

This course will inform you of the importance of following safe practices in the workplace. Additionally, it covers some preventative measures that will protect you from hazards and how to respond if an emergency should occur.

•  Recognize safe and unsafe practices in the workplace
•  Identify existing protective measures that will help protect you from hazards in the workplace
•  Recognize the appropriate actions you should take in an emergency situation

In this lesson you will learn how to determine the most appropriate next steps when assisting victims with minor injuries, and how to provide appropriate care for those with serious injuries while waiting for EMS to arrive.

•  Recall your role when an incident or injury occurs
•  Recognize symptoms of and responses to respiratory distress, heart attack, and cardiac arrest
•  Identify appropriate responses to bleeding, puncture wounds, and burns
•  Identify the indicators of and appropriate first aid responses to musculoskeletal injuries, including injuries to the head, neck, and spine
•  Recognize the symptoms of, and appropriate first aid responses to a variety of medical emergencies, such as diabetic emergencies, strokes, fainting, seizures, heat stress and cold stress
